There has been much debate concerning the effectively of pheromones for women nowadays. Pheromones are defined as chemically-based signals used as a come-on by many species to attract the opposite sex. The potency of pheromones has been observed in a large number of animals ranging from insects to mammals. Pheromones have been identified as a triggering mechanism for reproduction, a way for nature to ensure the survival of the species biologically. However, the potential use of pheromones for humans still remains large unknown, because much research still has to be done in this area. Pheromones for women are advertised as colognes, perfumes, and other types of spray-ons. Even deodorants claim to contain pheromones for women.

Pheromones on humans are usually produced on the erogenous zones. These zones are receptors for sexual activity, and send intense chemical signals to the brain when touched. Among these zones, armpits have been identified as a strong source of pheromones among men. Perspiration produced by both genders also contains pheromones. A study has proved that a small amount of sweat from a woman transferred to a man actually encourages the man to respond sexually. This phenomenon has been confirmed by other studies, and it is recognized today that perspiration is not at all bad, because it is a means for biological attraction to occur between the sexes.

How are pheromones for women incorporated into these products? First, scientists work to develop an artificial version of the female pheromone. Once this artificial version has been produced, it will be mixed with the scent or flavor of the product. Supposedly, when consumers use the product, they not only spray on the scent, but the pheromones for women as well. There have been reports of astounding success with regards to the product as a come-on for men. There has even been a study wherein men were exposed to women who used a pheromone-enhanced product, and to women who used a placebo. The results pointed out that the interest response of the man toward women who used a pheromone-enhanced product was triple than that of the placebo’s. This study was supposed to provide undeniable evidence that pheromones are in fact able to enhance the sexual attractiveness of a woman.

Despite these claims, however, there are still doubts whether it’s actually the pheromones which are responsible for bringing about sexual attraction. Experts have questioned the process of combining the artificially made pheromones with a product’s scent. Because of this combination, it’s hard to determine whether it’s the pheromones or the scent which increase a woman’s sexual attractiveness. The scent of the product, they say, might be the prime motivating factor, and not the artificially made pheromones. Despite these doubts, however, products which claim to contain artificial pheromones are flying off the shelves. The motivation for buying these products lies in the fact that aesthetics are highly valued in today’s modern society. One seeks to increase chances of attracting the opposite sex. whether it be by intelligence, or wealth, or physical looks, everyone tries to be attractive in their own way.
